Frequently asked questions
Getting started
What is IPTV?
It’s a way of watching TV channels over the internet. The channel list comes from an IPTV provider, contracted separately. DAZO is only the app that opens that playlist on the TV, with large text and everything done from the remote.
Does DAZO come with channels?
No. DAZO Player is only a player: it doesn’t come with channels, movies or shows. It opens the IPTV playlist your provider gave you. Premium unlocks app features, never content.
Where do I get a playlist?
From your IPTV provider. They’re the ones who give you the playlist link, or the username and password, to enter in DAZO. DAZO doesn’t sell or recommend playlists and has no ties to any provider. Only use playlists you have the right to watch.
Does it work on my TV?
It works on Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and TV box with Android 6.0 or newer. An easy way to tell: if the TV has the Google Play store or the Amazon Appstore, it works. If it doesn’t (as with many Samsung and LG TVs), you can plug a Fire TV device or a TV box into it. DAZO is made for the TV, not for the phone.
Does DAZO speak other languages?
Today the app is in Portuguese. The website and your account work in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
What kind of playlist works?
The three most common:
- M3U link: an address ending in .m3u or .m3u8.
- Xtream Codes: server, username and password.
- Portal: the portal address and the MAC.
Your IPTV provider is the one who gives you these details.
How do I add my playlist?
DAZO asks for the playlist the first time you open the app: just follow the screen. Later, you can change it under Configurações › Minhas listas › Adicionar lista (Settings › My playlists › Add playlist). Your playlist passwords never leave your TV.
Premium and payment
What does Premium unlock?
App features, never content:
- Watch the movies and shows in your playlist
- Up to 6 playlists on the same account
- Up to 5 profiles plus the Guest
- Up to 5 devices on the same account
- Favorites and My List
- Recent channels on the home screen
- Program replay, when the playlist offers it
- Reminders and recordings
- Parents' PIN and locks
- Sort and hide channels
- Color themes
- Playlist that refreshes itself
The channels, movies and shows keep coming from your playlist.
What comes with the free plan?
The essentials for watching TV:
- 1 IPTV playlist
- Live TV with program guide
- Your profile and the Kids profile (children’s channels)
- Senior Mode (large text)
- No ads
To watch the movies and shows in your playlist, you need Premium. The free plan needs no account and no card.
How much does it cost?
DAZO is free to start. Premium is optional: $14.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial on a credit card, or $37.99 one time only, with no renewal. Both unlock the same features.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
It applies to Yearly Premium paid with a credit card. You use Premium for 7 days without paying. If you don’t cancel, the first charge of $14.99 comes 7 days later, on the date shown before you confirm. Cancel before that date and you pay nothing. With Pix there’s no trial: you pay right away.
How do I cancel?
In the same place where you paid:
- Here on the site: under My account › Premium, tap Cancel subscription.
- Google Play: on your phone, open Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
- Amazon: in your Amazon account, under Your Subscriptions.
Premium continues until the end of the period already paid; after that, the account goes back to the free plan. Lifetime doesn’t renew, so there’s nothing to cancel.
What does lifetime mean?
You pay once and Premium stays in your DAZO account: it doesn’t renew and doesn’t expire. At today’s prices, 3 years of the yearly plan cost $44.97. If you plan to use DAZO for 3 years or more, lifetime is the better deal.
Where do I pay for Premium?
Wherever is easiest for you. Premium stays in your DAZO account and works on up to 5 devices:
- On the TV, through Google Play: if you installed from Google Play.
- On the TV, through Amazon: if you installed from Amazon, on Fire TV.
- Here on the site, with a card or Pix: this is the way for those who installed from the APK. The TV shows a QR code and you pay from your phone.
Can I pay with Pix?
Yes, here on the site. With Pix you pay right away, without the 7-day free trial. Pay in your bank’s app with the QR code or with the Pix copy-and-paste code. When the Pix payment clears, the TV updates by itself; it can take up to 1 minute. For the yearly plan paid with Pix, renewal isn’t automatic: we email you before it expires.
I paid and the TV is still on the free plan. What do I do?
Check that the TV is on the same account you used to pay (on the TV: Configurações › Sua conta DAZO (Settings › Your DAZO account)). If you paid with Pix, it can take up to 1 minute. If that doesn’t fix it, contact us: a real person answers.
Account and devices
How many devices can I use it on?
Premium works on up to 5 devices with the same account. To use a new device when all 5 slots are taken, disconnect one you no longer use under My account › Devices.
Can each person have their own profile?
Yes. On the free plan you have your profile and the Kids profile. With Premium, there are up to 5 profiles, each with its own avatar, plus the Guest, and you can require the parents' PIN to enter a profile.
Are there parental controls for children?
Yes. The Kids profile comes with the free plan: in it, the TV turns blue and only the children’s channels from your playlist appear. On the free plan, Kids has no lock, and a child can leave it. With Premium, you turn on the 4-digit parents' PIN: then a child can only leave Kids with the PIN, and the same PIN locks a profile and the channels you block.
How do I sign in to my account on the TV?
On the TV, open Configurações › Sua conta DAZO › Fazer login (Settings › Your DAZO account › Sign in) and enter your account email and password with the remote. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one right there or here on the site.
I forgot my account password.
Under Sign in › Forgot my password, enter your email. We send you a link to create a new password.
I forgot the parents' PIN. What now?
On the TV, under Senha dos pais (Parents' PIN), choose Esqueci o PIN (Forgot the PIN). We send a 6-digit code to the email of your DAZO account; you enter the code on the TV and create a new PIN. Nothing needs to be erased.
How do I delete my account?
Under My account › Account › Delete account. See what happens to your data under Delete account.
Common problems
Channels are missing from my playlist. Is it the app?
Almost never. The channels come from your provider (whoever gave you the playlist). If something disappeared, talk to them: DAZO only plays your playlist.
My playlist stopped working.
It may have expired or reached your provider’s connection limit. Confirm with them and, on the TV, try again under Atualizar conteúdo (Refresh content).
A channel won’t open. Is it DAZO?
Try another channel first. If only one won’t open, it’s usually the playlist: talk to your provider. If none opens, check the TV’s internet connection. DAZO tries to reconnect on its own before warning you. If the internet is fine, contact us.
How do I make the text larger?
On the TV, under Configurações › Modo Sênior (Settings › Senior Mode), choose On: large text and more contrast at once. If you prefer, change only the Tamanho de fonte (Font size).
